SAP MDG Consultant (MM/BP/FI) – 18 Month Contract

Location: Remote (with travel required during SIT, UAT, and Go-Live phases)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced SAP MDG Consultant to join a large-scale global S/4HANA Greenfield transformation programme. The successful candidate will play a key role in the design, implementation, and deployment of SAP Master Data Governance solutions across multiple business entities and regions.

This is a remote contract opportunity with travel expectations during critical project phases including System Integration Testing (SIT), User Acceptance Testing (UAT), and Go-Live deployments.

The ideal consultant will bring deep expertise across SAP MDG domains including Material Master (MM), Business Partner (BP), and Finance (FI), alongside proven experience delivering end-to-end S/4HANA transformation projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and support the design and implementation of SAP MDG solutions across MM, BP, and FI domains
• Collaborate with global business stakeholders to gather requirements and define master data governance processes
• Configure and enhance SAP MDG workflows, data models, validations, and business rules
• Develop and maintain BRF+ rules and decision tables
• Support integration activities between SAP MDG and S/4HANA environments
• Participate in solution architecture discussions within a Greenfield S/4HANA programme
• Support data governance strategy, data quality, and master data harmonisation initiatives
• Drive SIT, UAT, cutover, and Go-Live activities across global deployments
• Provide functional expertise and guidance to business users and project teams
• Collaborate with offshore/onshore teams in an international delivery environment
• Produce functional specifications, process documentation, and testing artefacts

Required Skills & Experience

• 8+ years of SAP MDG consulting experience
• Strong hands-on expertise in SAP MDG modules including:
• Material Master (MM)
• Business Partner (BP)
• Finance (FI)
• 5+ years of SAP S/4HANA experience
• Proven experience delivering full lifecycle SAP implementations from design through Go-Live support
• Experience working on at least one S/4HANA Greenfield transformation programme
• Strong experience with BRF+ configuration and rule management
• Excellent understanding of master data governance principles and processes
• Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
• Ability to work independently within a remote global delivery model
• Fluent English communication skills

Preferred / Nice to Have

• Experience with SAP MDG Cloud-Ready Mode
• German language skills
• Previous experience on global rollout programmes
• Exposure to SAP Activate methodology
• Experience in data migration and data quality management initiatives
