SAP SD/OTC Functional SME

We're recruiting an experienced SAP SD/OTC Functional SME to lead hands-on configuration and technical solution design across our European operations. This is not an advisory or business process role — you'll own the complete SD/OTC domain within SAP, architecting configuration, managing transport requests, and troubleshooting complex integrations as we modernise our systems.

The Role

You will be the go-to technical expert for sales order processing, delivery, and billing configuration across Europe, working directly with our programme team to deliver an enterprise-wide SAP solution. Your core responsibilities include:

• SPRO configuration: Document types, pricing procedures, billing logic, validation rules, master data design
• Functional specification writing and transport management
• Integration design and troubleshooting (third-party systems, analytics, customs compliance)
• System stability, performance tuning, and complex customisation ownership
• Hands-on solution design for the S/4HANA migration wave (Europe programme ongoing)

You'll work closely with both technical and business stakeholders, but your role is firmly on the system design and configuration side; not business process consulting.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 7 years hands-on SAP SD/OTC (or equivalent O2C module) configuration experience
• Proven SPRO fluency: document types, pricing, billing, outbound delivery configuration
• S/4HANA exposure is a plus (migration experience is preferred but not essential)
• Experience troubleshooting complex integrations and customisations
• Strong communication skills in English; German is a bonus
• Ability to take ownership of technical decisions and mentor others
• International project experience is valuable

The Opportunity

This is a growth role. You'll establish the technical foundation for SD/OTC across EMEA and have the potential to expand into team leadership as the programme scales. Based in Budapest with realistic 20–30% travel (primarily Europe) and flexible remote working (typically 3 days on-site).
