SAP FICO Lead

Inside IR35 Rate: £650-£690 per day

Location: Remote (occasional travel to Preston may be required)

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced SAP FICO Lead to support the delivery of a major finance transformation initiative, helping establish a new shared service centre within an SAP environment.

This is a hands-on functional role requiring strong SAP FICO expertise across requirements gathering, solution design, configuration, testing, deployment, and data migration activities. You'll work closely with stakeholders to shape requirements, deliver robust solutions, and ensure a smooth transition to the new operating model.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead requirements gathering workshops with business and finance stakeholders.
• Design and configure SAP FICO solutions to support a new company code and shared service centre setup.
• Translate complex or unclear business requirements into agreed solution designs.
• Produce functional specifications and support end-to-end solution delivery.
• Support testing activities, including SIT, UAT, and deployment readiness.
• Assess existing interfaces and identify any remediation requirements resulting from the company code transition.
• Support master data and transactional data migration activities.
• Work closely with business, technical, and integration teams to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide functional leadership and guidance throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a SAP FICO Consultant / SAP FICO Lead.
• Minimum 5 years' hands-on SAP FICO configuration experience.
• Strong expertise across:
• General Ledger (GL)
• Accounts Payable (AP)
• Accounts Receivable (AR)
• Asset Accounting
• Cost Centre Accounting
• Profit Centre Accounting
• Experience delivering SAP company code implementations or transitions.
• Strong requirements gathering and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience supporting testing, deployment, and hypercare activities.
• Experience assessing and supporting interface impacts and integrations.
• Knowledge of data migration processes, including master and transactional data.
