SAP Basis Engineer - Cloud & S/4HANA

We are supporting a global consumer goods organisation with an established international SAP landscape, looking for an experienced SAP Basis Engineer to support the operational management, optimisation and continuous improvement of its SAP infrastructure.

This is a hands-on technical role focused on SAP Basis, S/4HANA, cloud operations, performance, security and automation, working closely with architects, infrastructure teams and external technology partners.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and optimise SAP Basis infrastructure across business-critical environments.
• Lead system maintenance including patching, upgrades, installations and system refreshes.
• Monitor and troubleshoot SAP system performance, availability and security.
• Support SAP database health, performance, replication and high-availability activities.
• Drive automation across SAP operations, including monitoring, backups and system management.
• Support SAP S/4HANA architecture and technical delivery initiatives.
• Work across Azure, AWS and other cloud platforms, with Azure particularly desirable.
• Support DevOps, continuous testing and deployment automation initiatives.
• Manage technical escalations with external service providers and technology partners.
• Drive improvements around incident volumes, system stability, MTTR and operational efficiency.
• Support cloud cost optimisation across compute, storage, licensing and availability.
  
  

Requirements

• 2+ years' hands-on SAP Basis experience.
• Strong SAP system administration and IT operations background.
• Experience supporting SAP S/4HANA environments.
• Experience with SAP in cloud environments - Azure, AWS or GCP.
• Strong troubleshooting skills across performance, availability and security issues.
• Experience with automation of SAP Basis operations; SAP LaMa is advantageous.
• Strong understanding of databases, monitoring, backups and HA.
• Excellent English communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working within complex multinational environments is desirable.
