Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Freelance SAP SD Consultant to support a major SAP S/4HANA migration programme for a leading industrial machinery manufacturer in Germany.

You will be responsible for SAP Sales & Distribution (SD) activities across the migration lifecycle, working closely with business stakeholders, SAP functional teams, developers, and integration teams. The role will involve analysing the existing SAP ECC/ERP environment, defining the S/4HANA target solution, supporting configuration and testing, and ensuring a smooth transition to the new platform.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on SAP SD experience, preferably within industrial manufacturing, engineering, machinery, or complex make-to-order environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead SAP SD functional activities for the SAP S/4HANA migration, including fit-gap analysis, process design, configuration, testing and deployment.
• Configure and support end-to-end Order-to-Cash (O2C) processes covering sales orders, pricing, deliveries, shipping, billing, returns and intercompany sales.
• Work closely with business stakeholders and SAP teams across FI, MM, PP, EWM/WM and other integrated functions to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Support data migration, functional specifications, integrations, testing, defect resolution, cutover and go-live/post-go-live support.
• Drive fit-to-standard workshops and recommend S/4HANA solutions while identifying and managing required customisations and enhancements.

Required Experience

• 5+ years of SAP SD consulting experience, with strong hands-on configuration and end-to-end O2C expertise.
• Proven experience delivering SAP ECC to S/4HANA migration or transformation projects, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong knowledge of pricing, availability checks, deliveries, shipping, billing, output management and customer/business partner processes.
• Experience integrating SAP SD with FI, MM, PP and logistics, including EDI/IDoc or API-based integrations.
• Experience in industrial machinery, engineering, discrete manufacturing, Make-to-Order (MTO) or Engineer-to-Order (ETO) environments is highly desirable.
