Position Overview:

The SAP FICO Consultant leads the implementation and continuous improvement of SAP’s financial modules. They ensure end-to-end integration of financial transactions across business units and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize reporting, analytics, and compliance. This role demands strong knowledge of FI (Financial Accounting) and CO (Controlling) submodules and the ability to align them with corporate financial strategies and operational goals.

Job Description:

An SAP FICO (Financial Accounting and Controlling) Consultant plays a central role in designing, implementing, configuring, and supporting financial processes within an SAP environment. This advanced role requires deep expertise in finance, accounting principles, and SAP integration — bridging the gap between business strategy and system functionality.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, configuration, and enhancement of SAP FICO modules, including General Ledger (GL), Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Asset Accounting (AA), and Controlling (CO-PA, CCA, PCA).
• Translate complex business requirements into detailed system solutions through workshops and business process mapping.
• Configure integration points between FICO and other SAP modules (MM, SD, PP, and HR).
• Manage full lifecycle SAP S/4HANA Finance implementations, migrations, and post-go-live support.
• Develop custom reports, validations, and substitutions to strengthen financial governance.
• Conduct unit, integration, and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure accuracy and performance.
• Collaborate with ABAP developers for custom enhancements, interfaces, and forms related to finance.
• Optimize financial close, cost allocation, and profitability analysis processes.
• Create and maintain functional specifications, process documentation, and training materials.
• Stay updated on emerging SAP technologies, Fiori apps, and HANA-based reporting capabilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Systems, or a related field.
• 7+ years of hands-on SAP FICO configuration and project delivery experience.
• Proven track record in S/4HANA Finance implementation and migration projects.
• Deep understanding of financial accounting standards (e.g. IFRS, GAAP) and cost management principles.
• Skilled in interfacing SAP FICO with external systems (tax engines, banks, or reporting tools).
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management abilities.
• SAP FICO certification preferred.
