Position description
A leading public sector health organisation is seeking a Senior SAP Functional Consultant specialising in Sales and Distribution to join their specialist delivery team. This is an exceptional opportunity for you to play a pivotal role in the transformation of clinical supply chain services across Queensland, supporting the commissioning of a new Central Pharmacy facility and the implementation of a modern enterprise software system.
Contract: 12 months
Rate: DOE
Location: Richlands, Brisbane
What You'll Do
- Adhere to defined service quality standards as well as health and safety policies to ensure all services and workplaces maintain the highest levels of safety and quality.
- Fulfil your responsibilities in alignment with public service values by promoting customer-first thinking, empowering people around you, and translating ideas into action.
- Support quality human resource management practices by fostering employment equity, anti-discrimination principles, ethical behaviour, and respectful interactions throughout your daily work.
- Deliver assigned project milestones, deliverables, and outcomes within agreed timeframes and specifications while maintaining compliance with established quality standards.
- Engage proactively with project teams and stakeholders to understand business requirements, process challenges, and system needs; provide clear communication on progress and decisions throughout the design lifecycle.
- Design and implement new SAP S/4HANA Sales and Distribution configurations—including WRICEF objects—in line with best practice guidelines to ensure scalable solutions adaptable to future needs without disrupting existing integrations or enhancements.
- Develop master data structures such as Business Partner roles, Material Master sales views, pricing master data, and output/communication master data in accordance with overall solution architecture.
- Ensure seamless integration between Sales and Distribution modules and related areas such as Materials Management (MM), Finance (FI), Extended Warehouse Management (EWM), Business Technology Platform (BTP), as well as external systems.
- Collaborate closely with Solution Architects to align your designs with architectural vision while ensuring compliance with audit requirements, data governance protocols, and regulatory standards.
- Prepare comprehensive documentation including discussion papers, process flows, detailed design documents, configuration specifications, test scripts, and other artefacts required for successful project delivery.
- Conduct unit testing as well as support system integration testing phases such as user acceptance testing (UAT), performance testing, penetration testing, cutover planning activities, hypercare support during go-live stabilisation phases.
- Facilitate knowledge transfer sessions to upskill staff members within the organisation so that capability is embedded long-term; actively participate in change management initiatives to maximise solution adoption.
What You Bring
- Minimum five years’ experience designing and implementing original SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution module solutions in greenfield projects or live production environments is essential for success in this role.
- Demonstrated ability to create bespoke SAP SD designs rather than relying solely on predefined templates or rollout configurations is highly valued.
- Proven track record in full configuration of WRICEF development objects alongside end-to-end Order-to-Cash process design is required.
- Deep understanding of SD integration points with MM (Materials Management), FI (Finance), EWM (Extended Warehouse Management), BTP (Business Technology Platform) as well as external systems is necessary for effective cross-module delivery.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills are vital—you must communicate clearly with both technical specialists and non-technical audiences throughout all project phases.
- Experience delivering SAP solutions across the entire project lifecycle—including design workshops through build/testing/cutover/hypercare/post-go-live stabilisation—is expected; exposure to health or pharmaceutical sectors is desirable but not mandatory.
- SAP S/4HANA Sales & Distribution certification is desirable; additional certifications in related modules such as EWM are advantageous but not essential.
- Excellent analytical thinking skills are needed to assess complex business requirements quickly then translate them into scalable best-practice functional solutions.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within cross-functional teams comprising architects/developers/testers/business stakeholders is crucial for achieving shared goals efficiently.
- Resilience under pressure combined with initiative-taking behaviour ensures risks/issues/opportunities are identified early so continuous improvement remains possible even during challenging periods.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples are encouraged to apply.
