SAP Technical Consultant / Transport Management

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a SAP Technical Consultant / Transport Management on a remote basis for an initial 12 month contract.

Job Spec:

Main Responsibilities:

• Keep track on all changes via transports implemented towards a highly complex system landscape covering two production- & project system landscapes
• Needs to check & manage transport & release related the documents (e.g. unit-, integration-, migration test logs) for suitability and approve the transport to different landscapes (project test system, project migration system, target productive system landscape).
• Create, maintain and take ownership of the overall cutover plan & cutover task list and assign responsibility to individuals/teams
• Create, maintain and take ownership of the overall cutover meeting schedule, execution & moderation as well and secure cross-team communication accordingly

Key Skills:

• Needs to have background knowledge of SAP Transport Management System (e.g. STMS) and know how to release and 'package' transports
• Need to know implementation experience of **Active Control **for complex project system landscapes
• Need to bundle transports into releases, resolve conflicts in an object-based way
• Needs to manage the transport conflict resolutions by driving the alignment between the project workstreams
• Always needs to have the complete overview of all transports and their relation towards functional releases and project test- & go-live packages
• Consider and execute retrofit (ECC custom code into S/4HANA new data model adjustments) needs to be reviewed to resolve further conflicts within target system landscape

Main Capabilities:

• ECC to S/4HANA greenfield / selective data implementation SAP retrofit process for custom code Transport management tool support either by SAP Solution Manager or BTI Active Control
• Multiple successful SAP cutovers/go-lives for large global companies, preferably with S/4HANA (10+ years of experience).
• Understanding of the data migration process and tooling (Migration Cockpit, Data Services, Information Steward).
• Understanding of the testing process and tooling as well as test automation and regression testing.
• Understanding of the different test cycles (mocks, TC0..TCN) and dependencies between testing, data migration, development, configuration.
• Steer the handling of interfaces, integrations and surrounding systems (disconnect, connect) in the overall planning (availability, sequence, dependencies).
• Control of user access and authorizations per target system
• Understanding and driving of the iterative development process (develop, test, fix, test, fix, test, ..).
• Understanding of entry and exit criteria, quality gates as well as defect and risk management as well as go/no-go decisions and rollback scenarios.
• Understanding of business requirements and restrictions, taking into account in overall planning (budget, financial closing, resource limitations, holidays, etc.)
• Management skills:
• Design the overall transport process across all involved SAP systems
• Enforce the project members to follow the aligned process
• Control all transport activities & steer the project member accordingly
• Proven experiences within highly complex SAP migration scenarios
